Celebrating the National Day of Prayer

The vey first National Day of Prayer dates back to 1952 when then President, Harry Truman, signed a bill proclaiming the National Day of Prayer into law in the U.S. Later, in 1988, President Ronald Regan amended the law designating the first Thursday in the month of May as the National Day of Prayer. In 1972, the National Day of Prayer Committee was formed.

Here is a day that individuals of faith gather and pray. This is a day that is near and dear to a lot of hearts. People of faith gather in their homes or places of worship to pray. The prayers are primarily focused on peace throughout the world and prayer for healing. I believe that our Father, who art in Heaven, hears us when we pray.

On this day, find a quiet place and find fellowship with God. Pray to Him. Talk to Him. Speak your favorite Bible verse or verses. The world can always use more prayer.

My prayer is that all find their way to God and the world to know His love and grace.

However you chose to celebrate this day, I hope you find peach and enjoy the day.

Here are a couple of my personal favorite bible verses–I hope you like them too:

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

God Bless You!
